  • In this painting I have tried to give visual form to a delicately olfactive sensation: the aroma given off by a cup of jasmine tea.

This fragrance takes on the role of the main protagonist of the picture. To achieve this, I have used colors relating to tea: ochre, gold and grey. The golden ochre corresponds to the color of the infusion and the impression it produces on my spirit: an impression of well-being; the grey I associate with our dreams may find a place. The two are the visual materialization of something as subtle as an aroma.

In addition, in this fragrance of tea I see something luminous, shining, ethereal , something poetic. Something that makes us think of friendship and tranquility, that invites us to give, as the old Chinese poets did, a ritual and mystic significance to life.
