It was not premeditated. It came out of nothing and was immediately converted into a definitive certainty. It was in the forests of Ucieda. Autumn. Photographing landscapes of memory, of my memory. I had been wandering in the forest on my own for several hours. I looked down at the river and stood there, utterly absorbed, watching the unstoppable course of the water and the reflections of the sun. The world stood still and I asked myself: what does the perfume of life smell of? Then I made this image trying to decipher it.
