The power of smell transports me in time. It causes me to relive what I have already lived. It is like a segment of film, a very few instants in length, immeasurable, very powerful, and leaves me in a half-dreaming state, in a kind of absence for a few instants it disappears.

The caves of Altamira made a strong impression on me. I could touch the walls painted by those hunters of spirits. The contact and the penetrating smell of the interior of the sacred place carried me away. I was moved by the magical power of the images, and it transported me to the condition of hunter and pray, to feel, to touch the earth with my skin, to depend on the strength of my body, to orient my attention by the timeless smell given off by beings and things.
