All of Jannis Kounellis’s works have a great substance of odorant themes, olfactory chemical compounds that most of the materials he works with give off: fabrics, coal, wood and plants, among others. This piece is no exception. Its floral character metaphorically enriches this duality between material and smell and emphasizes this quality even more, if possible.
