Lawrence Carroll’s painting distances itself from the frame. He creates by means of layers, giving rise to three-dimensional paintings and engendering objects. This could be compared with the perfumer’s way of working: slowly adding little by little. Carroll’s objects Carroll could be the bottles and the layers, the raw materials contained in these, that is to say, the essence.
