The strong aroma of the second floor made me move. As I went up the old stairs it grew more and more intense. A sweet, intoxicating, penetrating smell permeated everything. Behind one of the red doors I found the white counter, wounded by the nuance of the crushed rose petals. The dryness of the atmosphere and the winter cold opposed the freshness of its perfume; I opened the window and breathed deeply, as the snowflakes fell slowly from the sky.
