Staring into the sea

This photograph belongs to a series where I tried to portray a certain time in my life. For me, that painting of the sea that used to hang in my grandparents’ living room wall is an indelible symbol of those days. Looking at it means feeling the sea breeze on my skin again, it means embarking on a somehow bitter journey to my lost innocence. That salty taste, that perfume… they lead me right back into your arms and spark the longing for your body, home of a thousand seas.

Smell is also emotion, and emotion is also taste. Smell and taste have the power to make memories linger and bring uniqueness to our way of looking.
