What is the first smell that comes to mind? No doubt it will have occurred to you by now. Have you noticed that you relate to a lot of things by way of their smell? Stop for a moment and think about the things you can smell: inevitably there are certain odours that conjure up particular things, places or moments that have some unique significance for you. We’re going to appreciate a little more clearly how smell – though it’s a sense we use little – is just as important as sight, hearing, touch and taste, and we want you to make that discovery with us.
